Native American Project

Students recently were assigned a Native American project in Social Studies. There will be some class time where they will be able to do research on the computer, but most work will need to be completed at home. Students have very specific directions that they need to follow. Please offer any support you can. If you have questions please contact me. The project is due on October 30th.

HOMEWORK MATTERS

Homework matters is a program I run as an incentive to get students to turn in all their homework in on time. In order to be eligible for the incentive students need to turn in all homework assigned for a full week on the day it is due. Homework that is incomplete will not be accepted. Also, the assignment needs to be turned in first thing in the morning. Work turned in later in the day does not count. Turning in work on time is a skill that will make them successful this year and it is crucial to their success in middle school.

Field trip chaperones

Anyone wishing to join us on field trips needs to be background checked. Please see Mrs. Salazar if you are interested. The cost is $12 and it is good for two years.

Studying the States

States tests are every Wednesday. I found a great website to help your child study the states. Go to coolmath-games.com. Click on Geography. Then select State the State. If you would like for me to send home blank worksheets for you child to practice on just let me know. Hope this helps!!

Multiplication Facts and 50 States

Students need to studying multiplication facts and 50 states on a daily basis. I give the multiplication test 2 to 3 times a week. Student need to get three 100's in a row to move on to division. I give the states test once a week on Wednesday's. Once they have mastered the states they will work on state capitals. Please make sure your child is studying!!!
